What’s happening at L’Ermitage
The refurbishment has started on the luxury 4* villas at L’Ermitage in the beautiful Cape Winelands.
Work has been scheduled on a rotational basis so that a section of the villas will be screened off and worked on at one time – meaning it’s business as usual for the other villas and chateau.
Over the eight months, we plan to re-tile all the stairs and patios and all the interiors, exteriors, roofs, walls and woodwork will be freshly painted.
You can enjoy a taste of L’Ermitage charm at the Winter Sculpture Fair from12 to 14 May at Nirox Sculpture Park in the Cradle of Humankind northwest of Johannesburg.
The talented duo of Chef, Mark Jacobs and Food and Beverage Manager, Nico van der Westhuizen, will be representing L’Ermitage at the Fair’s Franschhoek Food and Wine Exhibition.
If you’re looking for an excuse to visit Franschhoek, the Franschhoek Literary Festival scheduled for the third weekend in May is quite possibly one of the best!
During the weekend Festival and the Book Week for Young Readers which precedes the festival activities, the village buzzes with controversial ideas, debate, and all things literate.
The three-day event has been bringing together a broad cross-section of local writers and a few distinguished international authors since 2007. The festival has built a reputation for hosting inspirational and informative quality events which are scheduled at venues within walking distance of one another around the village.
If you’re a book-lover, it’s an unmissable time to experience the conversation, cuisine and café culture of Franschhoek.
